The JKFA has been supporting the Public-School Arts in the Tampa Bay Area for over 10 years. We first started out with raising funds for Blake High School Dance Department when we realized that students were not able to attend dance programs due to lack of funds. The Dance Department plans trips to the National or Regional High School Dance Festival each year. Here the students can audition for companies and colleges and present original choreography.
Every year, Blake High Dance Department participates in YAGP locally and usually invited to the finals in New York City. They also have traveled to NYC to have the Dance Department become ABT certified. All of this takes funding that is not provided by the school board. Our funds that we raise also supplements having guest instructors in the classroom.
WELCOME!
AND THANK you for being passionate about the arts.
Art must be encouraged and supported at the public school level in order to flourish. The JK Foundation’s goal is to raise awareness as to the great talent that we have here in our area, and to enhance the Public School’s programs and create a fantastic learning experience in our schools.
